Where the AI World Gathers Where the AI World Gathers Where the AI World Gathers Where the AI World Gathers
Born in UAE, at the crossroads of global innovation, /function1 brings together AI founders, investors, enterprises, academia, and regulators to shape what’s next for Artificial Intelligence.
Work with Function1 began with a redesign of the brand identity. The core visual concept was already built around the brand’s signature liquid element, but the existing textures appeared too simple and lacked visual impact.
Using Midjourney, a set of prompts was developed to generate new textures, creating a more dynamic and engaging visual language.

The full range of visual materials was produced, including business cards, printed assets, booth and wall graphics, as well as a comprehensive navigation system for the event space.

The color system is built on the contrast between two poles: absolute black (#000000) as the primary environment and electric turquoise (#1FFFF2) as the accent signal. Black here is not a background — it's a space: it creates depth and establishes a sense of infinity. Turquoise functions as a point of tension — high-contrast, visually aggressive, it instantly focuses attention and carries the core semantic weight of the brand.

Branding GRADIENT
The goal was to make the brand's social media presence work not as an event announcement, but as a standalone statement — an environment you actually want to step into. Every post is built on a unified visual logic: deep black backgrounds, electric turquoise light, glowing fluid textures, and human figures positioned at the intersection of the organic and the digital. This is not a collection of beautiful images — it's a coherent system where every element reinforces the overall feeling: you're looking at something that already exists in the future.

Preparation
The production phase spanned approximately two months and covered the full design-to-print lifecycle. The core challenge was not simply creating a set of graphic assets — it was building a coherent visual system that would hold up consistently across every format and medium.
All printed materials for the event were developed and production-adapted within this phase: badges, business cards, handouts, large-scale navigation elements, banners, and booth graphics. Each asset was tailored to meet specific venue requirements and production constraints.
Particular focus was placed on visual consistency — maintaining a unified design language across all scales, from small-format print to large physical installations. This required a structured quality control process at every stage of pre-production.

THE LARGEST
AI HACKATHON
IN THE MIDDLE EAST
▲ Project goal
AI Genesis is the largest AI hackathon in the Middle East, bringing together thousands of developers from around the world. The event begins with a week of online collaboration, where participants work on their projects, exchange knowledge, and take part in educational activities.
The hackathon gathers more than 6,000 participants, including over 400 onsite hackers. The event follows a hybrid format: the main development phase takes place online over the course of one week, culminating in an in‑person finale in Dubai. The program includes multiple thematic tracks, a series of online and offline workshops, and a final demo showcase where teams present their projects.
