Where the AI World Gathers Where the AI World Gathers Where the AI World Gathers Where the AI World Gathers
Born in UAE, at the crossroads of global innovation, /function1 brings together AI founders, investors, enterprises, academia, and regulators to shape what’s next for Artificial Intelligence.
Work with Function1 began with a redesign of the brand identity. The core visual concept was already built around the brand’s signature liquid element, but the existing textures appeared too simple and lacked visual impact.
Using Midjourney, a set of prompts was developed to generate new textures, creating a more dynamic and engaging visual language.

The full range of visual materials was produced, including business cards, printed assets, booth and wall graphics, as well as a comprehensive navigation system for the event space.

The PORTAL brand color palette was developed based on thorough audience research. Since the brand operates in the car wash industry, it was essential to select colors that stand out in urban environments and immediately catch the attention of drivers on the road. The chosen palette ensures high visibility and recognition, making PORTAL locations easy to spot even at high speeds or in dense traffic conditions.

Preparation
The preparation of visual and printed materials for the conference took approximately two months of intensive work. During this time, the majority of the event’s graphic assets were designed and adapted for production. The process included creating and preparing a wide range of materials for print, from badges, business cards, and handouts to large‑scale navigation elements, banners, and booth graphics.
Special attention was given to maintaining a consistent visual style and properly adapting the design across different formats and media. All materials were developed with consideration for venue requirements and production timelines, ensuring cohesive and high‑quality visual execution for the conference.

IN THE MIDDLE EAST
▲ Project goal
AI Genesis is the largest AI hackathon in the Middle East, bringing together thousands of developers from around the world. The event begins with a week of online collaboration, where participants work on their projects, exchange knowledge, and take part in educational activities.
The hackathon gathers more than 6,000 participants, including over 400 onsite hackers. The event follows a hybrid format: the main development phase takes place online over the course of one week, culminating in an in‑person finale in Dubai. The program includes multiple thematic tracks, a series of online and offline workshops, and a final demo showcase where teams present their projects.
